In the early days of online poker rooms and casinos the Internet, players flocked to the perceived ability to win large amounts of cash on the web. In very short order, the online poker rooms and casinos at the time were flooded and overwhelmed with patrons and customers, all looking for fast, easy money. With this sudden embarrassment of riches and wealth of traffic to the Internet based poker rooms, proprietors at websites had problems keeping up with the influx of new players on a regular basis. As the good times began to roll for online poker rooms and casinos, there were those in the United States government that were already coming up with all manner of different types of legislation to hamper the ability of online poker rooms and casinos as well as the online poker players who frequent these sites to make money. With this effort by the government to restrict players abilities to engage in poker games over the Internet, it has become so increasingly difficult to wager in online poker rooms and casinos that many players have simply left the fold altogether, giving up the ghost, as it were.
